Our relationship with money is personal, emotional, and deeply woven into who we are. We are a storehouse of memories and stories from our past. For example: whispers about the price of rice or watching adults fight over money would have lodged themselves deep in our psyche. These stories often hold a rich blend of emotions, with elements of joy, fear and shame intertwined in equal measure. They silently guide how we spend, save and dream. Yet many of these stories remain unexamined, shaping our habits and decisions without our awareness.

Join us for an intimate workshop where we’ll invite you to reflect and tell the stories of your personal connections to money. This 4-session, online workshop is for you to reflect on your money script & uncover some of the unconscious beliefs that you hold around money. You will write four stories (we will provide the prompts for each one) and share them with the others – a micro-community that listens without judgement, holds space and supports individuals to be vulnerable, open and honest.

These four sessions draw on the Guided Autobiography (GAB) method developed by Dr. James Birren, where short autobiographical pieces are written and shared in a small, trusted group. Writing in GAB is not about literary skill – it becomes a doorway into reflection, insight, and meaning-making. Stories are read aloud and received with presence and care, without advice or analysis. The experience is, for many, very profound.

As you write, share, listen and reflect on your own stories and also others’ stories on the same themes, you can see what aspects of your money story work for you and change those parts that do not serve you.

  • The role money played in your family
  • How you learned about money
  • What impact money has had on your life
  • Earning money – the first earning, later experiences earning money
  • Spending money – what you spend on, the priorities, your feelings about spending money
  • What money represents in your life

This session is open to anyone who is curious, reflective, and ready to spend a few weeks with their own story. No writing experience needed.
