Reimagine You – FAQ

What is Reimagine You?

Reimagine You is a foundational program in Transactional Analysis (TA) that focuses on applying TA deeply to yourself, your life, and your relationships.
It is designed as a 12-day training program spread over 6–8 months, the include:
● 6 in-person training days
● 6 live online training days
● 8 small-group discussions (2 hours each)
● 20 video lessons on our LMS, with MCQs and application exercises

The program offers 125 hours of advanced TA training that can be used towards SAATA and ITAA credentials

What is the goal of Reimagine You?

The goal of Reimagine You is both simple and profound: to help you reimagine yourself using the lens of Transactional Analysis.
Through increased awareness of how your personality, life script, and relational patterns were formed—and how they operate today—you begin to:

● Reimagine your personality and show up differently in the world
● Reimagine how you get your needs met
● Reimagine how you communicate
● Reimagine the deep seated beliefs you hold about yourself, others and the world
● Reimagine the limitations you place on yourself
● Reimagine your compulsive patterns
● Reimagine what you feel in various situations
● Reimagine the patterns you get into in your life
● Reimagine your role in your life dramas
● Reimagine what you pay attention to and what you ignore

And apply ethical thinking as your reimagine your life anew!

This is learning that changes how you live, not just what you know.

Who is the trainer?

The program is led by Aruna Gopakumar, a Teaching & Supervising Transactional Analyst (Psychotherapy).

With over 33 years of experience in psychotherapy, coaching, and group work, Aruna brings depth, clarity, warmth, and rigor to the process. She is the founder of The School of You and Navgati, an IIM Bangalore alumna, and the co-author of the Penguin-published book, “And How Do You Feel About That?”

Who is this program for?

In short: Everyone. We believe that self-awareness thrives in a diverse environment. Whether you are 18 or 80, and regardless of your professional background, your unique life experience adds value to our collective learning. We intentionally welcome a vibrant mix of perspectives to enrich our exploration of Transactional Analysis.

This program is designed for:

  • The Curious Explorer: Use it as a powerful, stand-alone deep dive into your own personal development.
  • The Aspiring Practitioner: Use it as your foundational first year toward professional certification in TA.

Who is this program not for?

This program may not be suitable if you are:

  • Looking for quick tools or surface-level learning
  • Unwilling or unable to engage in self-reflection
  • Not able to commit consistently to the learning process and the group
  • Seeking therapy rather than education (see Question 7)

What makes me eligible to participate in Reimagine You?

Having attended a TA 101 (conducted by any ITAA- or SAATA-accredited trainer) is a pre-requisite to join Reimagine you.
No exceptions are possible.
Click here to learn more about TA 101 and join our next batch.

How is Reimagine You different from TA 101?

Think of TA 101 (12 hours) as the “map” and Reimagine You (125 hours) as the “journey.” While the 101 briefly introduces core ideas, this program explores those theories (and many more) in much greater depth, providing the time and communal support needed to actually integrate them into your life.

Is this a therapy group?

No. Reimagine You is an educational program. However, because the learning is experiential, it can be emotionally impactful. We encourage participants to work with a therapist in parallel if strong personal material arises, ensuring you have the specific support you need for your healing journey.

How emotionally intense is the program?

You will be invited to reflect on early life decisions and notice how your “Script” plays out today. This requires vulnerability. While small-group sharing is often the highlight of the experience, you are always in control. What you choose to share is your choice, and your boundaries will always be respected.

What commitment is expected from participants?

To maintain the safety and depth of the group, we ask that participants

  • Attend at least 10 of the 12 training days.
  • Keep your video on during online sessions.
  • Engage fully with LMS videos, assignments, and small-group meetings.
  • Show up with openness and respect for your fellow learners.

What if I miss a session?

  • Online sessions are recorded for those who may need to miss an occasional day because of an emergency. Everyone can use them as a refresher
  • Face-to-face sessions cannot be compensated for if missed. People will lose training hours for those days.

You can account only for the hours where you have been physically present for an in-person or online class or small group activity.

Full and timely attendance and engagement in the foundation year is a requirement for joining the practitioner program.

What topics are covered?

The curriculum includes:

  • Understanding our personality using ego states
  • Ego States structure and function
  • Contaminations and other ego state dysfunctions
  • Transactions and communication
  • Human Hunger and Strokes
  • Functional Fluency
  • Life scripts and their transmission
  • Life Positions and The OK Coral
  • Injunctions, permissions and counterinjunctions
  • Emotions, Rackets and Racket Systems
  • Drama Triangle and Psychological Games
  • The Bystander Role
  • Discounting, passivity, and symbiosis
  • Autonomy, ethics, and the four fields of TA

The emphasis is always on application to your own life.

Does Reimagine You qualify me as a TA practitioner?

No. This is a foundation year. It provides the essential personal grounding and the required training hours to eventually pursue a Practitioner qualification, but it does not grant the title itself.

Will I automatically get a diploma in Transactional Analysis at the end of the
program?

Upon completion, you will have the minimum training hours required to write the SAATA Diploma exam. This is an optional next step involving four essays that showcase how you have used TA to enhance your well-being. Details can be found at http://www.saata.org.

Can I choose to write the diploma a few years after I finish Reimagine
You?

Yes, absolutely. The SAATA Diploma is a self-paced milestone. You can choose to complete it whenever you feel emotionally and intellectually ready, regardless of whether or not you are currently enrolled in an active training program.

In fact, many participants find that taking a year or two to let the concepts “marinate” through lived experience results in much richer, more integrated essays.

How do I apply for Reimagine You?

Participants apply by filling in a brief application form.

Ensure Fill the form here.

This is followed by a conversation with the faculty to ensure mutual fit.
