On Grief and Grieving: A Heartfelt Conversation on Loss and Support

This 90-minute session invites you to rethink your relationship with grief, offering a gentle alternative to the fix-it culture surrounding loss.
Grief doesn’t follow a script. It unfolds uniquely, with no fixed order and no “right” way to feel. Grief is not just sadness—it is disorientation, disbelief, rage, numbness, guilt, relief, and aching love. Grief can shatter your sense of time, make mornings unbearable and nights sleepless, and turn simple questions like “How are you?” into impossible ones. And yet, grief is not a sign that something has gone wrong—it is evidence of deep attachment and enduring love. It is not a sickness to be recovered from, but a natural process that morphs over time.
We’ll reflect on how our culture’s discomfort with sorrow often leaves the bereaved isolated, and what meaningful support looks like.
Together, we’ll
· Explore our own assumptions about grief
· Deepen our understanding of the many forms grief takes
· Learn to honour our grief instead of looking away
· Create simple, personal rituals to attend to our grief
· Discover how to support another meaningfully in their grief
Naina is not coming as an expert but as someone intimately acquainted with grief—still making sense of it, still learning how to live alongside it.
