This is a supervision group for practicing coaches, counsellors and psychotherapists, that uses psychodrama as a modality for supervision. This is open to practitioners of all modalities / approaches to helping. No prior experience of psychodrama is necessary.

Supervision is a distinct practice in the helping profession where a practitioner reflects on lived experience with a supervisor, who is a senior practitioner. Supervision can help therapists gain skills, build confidence, understand relational dynamics with clients, consider their own limits and operate ethically.

In supervision, you explore questions like:

  • What is going on between me and my client?
  • What am I bringing into the relationship?
  • What am I missing or avoiding?

For those unfamiliar with supervision, think of it as a collaborative inquiry into your practice, where the personal and professional are deeply interconnected.

Psychodramatic supervision is a dynamic, action-based approach to supervision that applies J.L. Moreno’s psychodrama principles to deepen understanding of the client-practitioner relationship.

Supervision in psychodrama involves the supervisee being the protagonist, and the supervisor the director of the drama. It thus involves an encounter of the supervisee and their client in the here-and-now. The process trusts the potential for creativity and spontaneity in the supervisee and emphasizes the development of progressive roles. It allows for the learning to emerge as the drama unfolds, making it a co-creative effort, rather than a hierarchical, one-way interaction.

The techniques of psychodrama that are used in the supervision include
